Default Journal of the new S/C setup

This is just a teaser for now. I will update with progress as it happens. Updates at bottom of this post.

I was bored so I figured I would post a teaser of my new FI setup. Some of you probably read my thread almost half a year ago when I was going to go back to N/A with cams. I had a whole N/A setup bought that I pieced together that included Schrick 264/256º cams, Porsche HFM, 24lb. injectors, AA tune, ect...some other goodies; I probably dropped around $3.5k on everything and none of it was ever installed! Well, that's not happening anymore, obviously. Indecisiveness cost me a lot of money but I was able to sell all the stuff pretty easily since it was all brand new...

Well anyway, I decided to stay with FI. I will leave the N/A build for when I get a dedicated track car, which will probably be an e36 325is that I'll swap an s52 into. I am coming off my old S/C setup that was a Dinan kit with a Powerdyne headunit; no chargecooling, stock boost. The internal belt ripped at my last track day. The new setup consists mainly of:

Vortech V1 headunit on fresh rebuild
6" crank pulley 8-rib
3.6" blower pulley
RMS aftercooler liquid-to-air
30lb. injectors
ESS tune from another member's kit

I have another handful of parts that are going on as well and I know I'm leaving a few other things out but those are the main players. I have a 3.33" blower pulley as well but only want to run ~8psi for now. I will probably run 10psi later on but will need to buy new software. Power-wise...I'm hoping it'll crack 300rwhp and 250-260rwtq on a Dynojet...the more it ends up throwing down past those barriers, the happier I will be.

A buddy of mine is helping me with the work; he knows his stuff. Some of you might have read my thread about my suspected headgasket issue around a month ago. A new headgasket is in and hopefully it will fix the issue. I suspect I blew the HG at my last track day in early October. The internal belt on my old Powerdyne blower conveniently decided to rip as well that same day.

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Most of the issues we've encountered so far has mainly been fitment and trying to get different parts to work with each other...I'm waiting on a JTD oil distribution block right now which is the main holdup. I will update this thread with progress when it happens! I am excited...my car has been boostless since the last track day and I haven't gone WOT with my car in 78 days!

Low quality, cell phone teaser pic of how it looks now.

*UPDATE 12/26/07: Intake manifold back on, aftercooler and intake piping hooked up. UUC oil center going on for oil feed and also bought some washers to try and get better belt alignment between the crank and blower pulleys. T-stat housing tapped for water temp sensor. Sorry, no pic tonight but I will update with one later.

Thanks, guys! I'm excited...I don't want to rush my buddy, but I am hopeful for a first fire-up sometime next weekend or a few days after that. Then I'll have to swap ECU's and give it a little break-in before I can see what it does.

I don't think it will continue too much longer, unfortunately. I really have to turn it down and save after this...time to start thinking about other things; which is why I wanted to make sure I enjoyed what I was putting on fully and completely.

Haha, yeah. I was going to ask you about it too. Are you at UC/have your car there? I'm up at UC and don't usually drive the car around...but it's mostly because it's been down for this entire time.
