Default DOCTOR 3VIL's Jet Black Journal

Well, I finally sold my Topaz to my cousin in-law who'll take good care of it. Best part is I'll still have access to it whenever I'd like . How awesome of a deal is that? I never thought I'd get rid of it but as you grow older priorities change and for some reason I lost interest in tracking and wanted to get hold of a clean stock E46. As I grow older my love for the E46 gets stronger. The design of it just is perfect. I love the E92 that I recently bought but nothing will have my heart like the E46 M3 does. Not even Porsche!
My next E46 had to be as stock as possible, black (I considered gray and silver as well) with Cinnamon interior and manual. I searched for a while and finally found the perfect one in CA; 02 black on black and manual with 42k miles and all stock! So I jumped on it and placed a deposit the first day that it was posted lol
A few days later I drove up with my cousin in-law and picked it up. Thank you very much Calvin for a great car. Calvin was a great seller and easy to deal with I forgot how smooth and comfortable a stock car can be. I fell in love all over again with the E46 M3 as I drove it 5 hours home. BMW truly had something special with this car and I just can't live without one. Plans so far are to get a alcantara steering wheel, OEM ZCP wheels, and LED tail lights. Nothing else is in plans right now and even if I mod it, all parts will be OEM. I washed and waxed it today with the help of my daughters.

On the way I stopped to take a pic

Congrats on picking up this cherry example! I saw some of the pics in the FS thread. You should post those, or take some yourself to really highlight how clean this one is. A paint corrected Jet Black car looks stunning, but a proper ceramic coating like Ceramic Pro 9h is absolutely essential to maintain it. The paint marrs if you drag a towel across it, so either never correct it, or do the above and never look at it closely under the sunlight or halogens haha.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one.

Nice pick up. I rarely see jet black nowadays; mostly CB.

I'm actually glad I never got into tracking cars; too expensive of a hobby. That and they make you do mods that are generally viewed as over the top. Clean and stock m3's just stand out that much more.

So cool that you were able to find your car nearby that quickly. And with super low mileage too!

And I agree - the feeling of a well maintained low mileage full stock E46 is something else. I guess it takes getting older to really appreciate it, but it's kind of fun to be reminded of just how great these cars were even rolling off the lot. Capable and civilized. If I ever get around to actually listing my ZCP, whoever drives it first is certainly going to buy it, because it really is so smooth and impressive.

It will look great with minimal changes, the OE ZCP wheels and LEDs, and will photograph very well next to your LMB E92. Can't wait to see more.
