FCABs and motor mounts are officially installed on the wagon. Added the new coolant and took care of a brake flush too. Just need to clean the panels for under the car and throw them back on. I have a new fuel filter, but may put that off for a bit.

The old mounts were really shot (old one on the left) and the brake fluid was gross looking.

Pretty happy with this result. I was dumb and didn't have the sample kit handy, so it was the last drippings of oil that I collected instead of mid-stream. Not sure how much that may impact the results, but at least nothings way out of range.

Looks like a 52. Apparently, one can tell from the M badges. Flat E36 style - S52 and curved E46 style - S54

Yup, it's a 52, although I didn't know that about the badges.

More updates!

We put the wagon through it's paces for a family camping trip. Wagon + roof top rack is so awesome. I thought we'd be tight on space and we had room to spare.

Work continues on the trim from the wagon. For now, the inside looks pretty disheveled. The parts just need one more round of sanding and some clear coat. They won't be perfect, but good enough for the DD (and I really didn't like the wood...)

I've had three events at Summit Point since the beginning of June, once with NASA and twice with Trackdaze. Nothing too crazy to share from the first two events, just instructing at HPDEs. I was able to spend a lot of time in a new M3 and M2, both were pretty impressive even 100% stock. I thought the student in the M2 was the best heel-toer of all time, but of course it auto-blips...

A little post-track tire carnage

The third event was yesterday and ended up being a private event coordinated with an exotic car dealership. There was a ton of bling there! Mostly Mclarens, plus some lambos and Ferraris.

Never seen one of these

dat Pista dat sound

And I never thought I'd see one of these, especially ripping up a track in West Virginia. So epic to see a Senna in the flesh. A true work of engineering art.

I rode in a 570s as well as an orange Huracan Performante (which I didn't get a pic of). Both were really fun and just insanely fast in a straight line. Actually I'm sure they're fast in turns too, just not for guys new to the track. Good for them though, I'm guessing most cars of this category sit in garages and go to the local C&C, so props to these owners.
I'll be off the track until the weather cools a bit. Hopefully will make VIR happen in the fall.

Non-M3 post: I had mentioned to my Dad that the core support in my Bronco was rotting and I was going to pull it to rebuild/replace. He said "prove that it's that bad". I sent him this pic

So anyways, the front of the truck is slowly coming apart. I'll be doing a full cooling system rebuild while I'm at it.
Here the journal for that if interested
