Assuming you have had an incident, why not go with a C/F hood? It will be far more resilient to minor bumps, can be painted and makes a great story at trade in time that you didn't have a mishap.... Just don't look to save any weight.

I really like the stock looks of the hood. Can you get a CF hood without the vents, basically just a stock looking hood made out of CF.

Yes Vorsteiner make a CF hood identical to stock but in CF obviously...possibly with a bigger hood dome, but nothing too obvious I am pretty sure...

Default I paid about $900

I replaced my OEM hood with the Vorsteiner CF with vents. I wanted an OEM finish on top which was paint plus 2 coats of clear and underneath which was a semi gloss (similar to OEM finish). As a parting note, the Vorstainer is a better way to go. I had ordered the Flossman and the fit was horrible to say the least!

Make sure you have the hood installed prior to painting. The additional labor up front could save you a big headache in the end!

I just went through insurance and had mine done. The hood was $500 OEM and the paint after blending with the fenders was an additional $1,400 for a total of $1,900. Thank God for insurance. It looks perfect now though.

Hey guys thanks for your input.

Went to the recommended body shop of my dealer.

To replace:
Hood
Grills (x2)
Emblem
Paint hood
Paint and blend both fenders

Quote was for 2000.00

On a side note, I asked about how much to repaint the front bumper only b/c I've wanted to do that. He said only about 400.00 which imo is really reasonable. He did however say, that the more often you repaint the bumper, when you do get a rock chip they are deeper and more noticeable b/c of the extra paint thickness. So to replace and paint the bumper is 775.00.

I think the quote was a little high, but only by a hundred or so I feel. Going to get another one tomorrow.
