Default M3/E46 3 Series vs E60 5 Series Handling

Has anyone here had the chance to drive E60 5 series (not M5) and compare handling at the extremes to E46 3 Series & M3 ?

Some years back I had a 99 328 E46 Sedan, the handling at extremes was highly competent and a real pleasure. Current M3 even better of course, plus power.

Had the chance to drive an E60 5 series last month and was really disappointed. Steering was vague and imprecise, constantly adjusting through turns, and the rear wheels walked/skittered around on any bumpy surface when pushed. No where as good as the 328 E46, let alone the M. Yes the M is an M, but would have expected a new 5 to corner better than a 7 year old 328. The 5 did not have the active suspension, but did have active steering.

Interested in any feedback.

Cheers..

Default

Well, the steering maybe a little different due to the active steering, but you should have tested the non-M E60 5-series WITH active suspension. It is impressive.
