Default Oil temp sensor?

I'm guessing here - is it part of the oil-level sensor? I can't find anything in the TIS or ETK referring to a seperate sensor, and since the oil-level sensor IS a thermal sensor - seems logical.

Reason I'm asking - after getting an oil-pan gasket replaced - I no longer have an operating oil-temp gauge, and the oil-level-warning flashes for about 30 seconds after starting the car up.

Somehow - I think they two are related..

Anyone know where the connector is located? I'm about willing to bet it's above that big aluminum plate under the engine..

Yes, Don. It's part of the oil level sensor. Also it's on the bottom of the oil pan which requires the aluminum undershield to be removed.

ps. If the car needs an oil change soon might as well do it now. Or you can find a bucket to catch the oil and put it back in if its relatively new still.

To check the connector itself you don't need to drop the reinforcement plate.

You can actually see it from the side of the wheel well.

I'd just wait till the next oil change and fix it then. Kinda silly to spend almost $100 (oil) on something that isn't really critical. You probably know how long the car takes to warm up, on average, and unless you track the car, which is unlikely being that it's a 'vert, oil temp isn't a huge concern.

If Don had that question 3 years ago and you had it recently I'm sure others would benefit from the advice in this thread also
