Default Cold Start problem vs. Race Gas?

Had anyone thought of putting a race gas in your cars or will it void the warranty?

What are possible consequences in putting in race gas?? engine problems? blown gaskets? headers crak1ng?

I just got my car and its already giving me a start up problem, car is not even a month old!! some say its ethanol but its not yet scientificaly proven.

93octane is now 90%ethanol 10%gas; 89 is 85%ethanol 15%gas and 87 is 80%ethanol 20%gas, Does using regular better than Premium?? :nixweiss:

Got two other older cars and bam!!!! they both start up on first crank and are filled by same gas station with lower grade gas (plus), mines Ultra. If its ethanol, It should be general, why only the M3? Puts me again in a limbo!:nixweiss:

For those folks who are having the same Start up problem, did you try it to your other cars?

TIA

First of all you have your ethanol mixtures all wrong, ther is only 10% ethanol in any given octane gasoline. Second, race gas will not harm anything but your wallet unless you use leaded gas.

Race gas won't void warranty, but it could actually make cold starts worse in cooler weather. Race fuel has a higher octane and as such a higher resistivity to burning than normal gas. Oh, don't use lower than 91 octane - these engines have very high compression and lower octane fuels can detonate fairly easily. Modern knock sensors are good enough that you may not damage anything, but there would most likely be a decrease in efficiency, power, and possible damages if run on low octane fuel for long enough.

VP sells a few fuels 103/104/108 which is the only unleaded fuel I've found that doesnt contain ethanol yet.
