Default Just watched the movie "Annapolis", have a question for Scott

So, I just got finished watching the movie Annapolis. Quite entertaining, and possibly the best recruitment movie since Top Gun. Scott, I am going to assume you have not seen the movie because to assume that you have would be irresponsible. At any rate, the movie depicts that there is an Academy boxing match (called the US Naval Academy Brigade) every year where all midshipmen are eligible to participate in. It basically follows a championship structure where officers and privates can all box each other. My question is two-fold. First, is there really such a boxing championship? Also, the movie seems to suggest that an important hand-to-hand combat technique that is taught is traditional boxing. At no point does the movie expound on other, more realistic means of fighting. Now as we all would know, any seasoned MMA fighter would crush traditional boxers. The movie makes no mention of any fighting other that boxing.. is this also true, or does Annapolis also teach other more realistic skills like submissions, grappling, ground and pound, eye-gouging, and nut racking?

Thanks in advance for your response,
Marv

Don't know about annapolis but The Citadel has lots of different classes.

Boxing, kendo and laido, Mixed Martial Arts(which I think is what they use in MMA)

Actually the Citadel is not even a "real" military college.. see here: http://www.citadel.edu/r3/about/facts/index.shtml

You are right. It isn't an Academy like Annapolis or West Point.

But, "The Citadel is a state-supported comprehensive military college"

My question for Scott - Is Donnie Wahlberg cool in real life?

I agree, this could fairly easily offend anyone who has had to smell that before.

(and those who quoted it should as well)
