I was happy with most posts I read while searching.... SO.... What type of brake pads should I look at for street/autox (my new found glory)... Keep in mind I am young and broke so the most cost efficient route is always a plus. I was looking at Axxis, and Hawk but Im not sure between the different models they offer

I bought new pads when I decided to try using cross drilled rotors, and decided to try Hawk HP Plus pads on my M3, and they are great. I dont run the car in autocross, but I run it hard on back roads that give the brakes a real workout and I dont experience fade nearly as quick as I used to with stock pads and rotors.
I will say though, the pads as super super dusty and get my wheels dirty real fast. They also squeal really bad sometimes when I'm not using them hard, like driving through towns and in traffic. I even tried that stuff that you spray on the back of the pads to help reduce squeal and they are still loud, although it helped. Hawk does give a warning however about the dust and squeal so I knew what I was getting into. The drilled rotors could also cause some of the squeal and I'm sure they cause a lot of the dust from the extra wear they create on the pads. Anyways, I love the pads, and think they are great for hard driving... If you can deal with the squeal. Hope I helped.

the axxis ultimates and hawk hps are both great street pads. The axxis have better initial bite, but the hawks have less dust. Both will do fine for beginner track work.

There are hawk HP and the more agressive HP plus.
Go HP Plus. The car weighs over 3300lbs. The faster you get, the more you need a pad that bites NOW, so you can quickly get back on the gas. A more conservative pad will make you brake earlier, and longer, once you get fast. If you get hooked on autox, there is a strong chance that you will quickly become exposed to HPDE and become a track junkie. HP and Ultimates won't cut it on a road course. Brakes that don't squeal on the street are for girlymen. m |

PBR are great, but mine squeak though. I just got them too with drilled rotors from Performance Parts Store / Great Lakes Auto (www.performancepartsstore.com) They had a good deal for pads and rotors on ebay from them. Seemd a little cheaper on ebay than directly from the store.

PBR = Axxis EBC's are awful products, work well on light cars, but not 3000+.
