Have others ever tried an electric fan and seen a benefit on track? You could test for an improvement by removing the mechanical fan during a hot session and checking your lap times. I could wrench for you if you want to try it, lemme know.

Step 1 is to wire in the aftermarket gauge for water temp and get your readings. If it's hot then start worrying about adding/deleting fans, bigger radiators etc...
At least that's my plan. |

30101516 is the fan I got, and was recommended to get by bimmerworld. They said it would be fine to run in my m3 with no front aux fan(mine is not working for unknown reasons atm..) It turns on when the temp is at the second white line(pretty uncomfortably high for me...) I have a bored out thermostat(came with the car) and the car runs at half way on the freeway and maintains a good temp around town unless i'm sitting at a light for a while or going up hills and in traffic... When the car is moving at any speed however the fan doesn't turn on and even if it did, it would be absolutely worthless, it feels like I could blow at the radiator just as hard as the fan blows -.- The worst part being I spent about 140$ to get the whole kit and it doesn't even work the way its supposed to... Is there one or two speeds for this fan? How do I set the controller as mentioned earlier in the thread?
