Default Rear window leak

I noticed water leaking through the seals on both of my rear windows and they are closed shut - I thought is might be due to dust but they continue to leak despite cleaning.....Any suggestion on correcting the problem without bringing it to the dealer??

No crack that I can see...the car is only 5 months old. Just wonder if anyone has similar experience with quick fix

Its a common problem - the dealer replaced the seals on both sides of my car and it is 3 years old. No more leaking!

if you pull the plastic covers you'll see the mechanism is held down by bolts...they are slotted so they can be adjusted...

mine leaked:
I pulled the cover
opened the window a 1/8" or so
loosened the bolts and pulled the actuator in about the same...
tightened the bolts
and closed the window, seals much better, quieter and no leaks...

Thanks for the recommendations! I think i will take the beast to the dealer and have them fix it....I hate pulling off trim covers - I often either crack them or rip my nails off

I guess I'm not the only one. I thought it was due in part to using a pressure washer at the local car wash. I refuse to use the brush on the paint, so I pressure wash the dirt & debris off almost weekly. I do avoid the rear windows as much as possible now. I don't have any problems in the rain though.

Does the cracking around the rubber seal be covered under maintenance warranty/new car warranty, to get a replacement?

Or is the cracking considered a normal wear and tear, thus NOT covered by the maintenance/new-car warranty?

Dealer just replaced my rear window seals - quick fix if your M is still under warranty. it leaked a little at first then no more after 1 week. The seal must have conformed to the window shape
