Default Rear View Mirror Attach?

Having problems re-attaching my rear view mirror.

There are three metal prongs that are on the mirror and they seem to attach to a triangle looking metal piece on the windscreen. Is there an easier way. I don't want to push too hard..

I've been working on it for over an hour and have had no luck..

A stealer is over an hour away and I don't feel like anything is broken.

Any info or similiar experiences would be great..

Thx

What you have to do is orient the prongs so they fit together then twist the mirror base while also pushing it towards the windshield. It is awkward and hard to get leverage. But it WILL go on. You need to have patience, as you don't want to push too hard either, or you may break or scratch the windshield. If there is auto glass installer closer to you than the dealer, you might try them if you can't get this to work. Don't feel bad, it took my trying for almost an hour, then suddenly I got it to fit and go in.
