Default LCM reflash necessary?

Don't flame me for this. I ran a search and got so many pages I couldn't find the answer. Is the LCM reflash required for the lights to operate or is it just to turn off the burnt out bulb warnings on the dash. Im preparing to install some LED's but don't want to go get the LCM reflashed in a few months when I get the car serviced. The SA should be able to hook it up for free too then . Just wondering if I could install them and drive around without reflashing. BTW, its a 10/01 build so I don't think I need a new LCM.

THanks

Bobby

The lights will operate normal without LCM reflash. The reflash just get rid of the annoying warning light on the dash.

Cool. I don't mind driving around with the warning lights on for a few weeks/months until i get into service.

Mine is 10/01 built as well so I know for a fact you won't need a new LCM. But eventually you'll need a reflash because they dash lights will in time drive you nuts. The LED's will work fine but upon starting they will do a "LED dance" which is pretty cool. Do a search on that and you'll find a cool video of "LED dance" made by one of the members. Next time you start the car, get out of the car quickly and you'll see the dance. It'll continue for 5-10 seconds after the start. The lights will at time flicker but it is more obvious when you first start the car and turn the lights on.
