Right about not working on a convertible.

Mine is a coupe, and i was asking if that universal transmitter thing will work on a coupe.

I hope it does, since otherwise the other option from BMW would be to replace the vanity mirror with a different one (rectangular mirror) that has compass and universal transmitter buttons, all integrated.

Anyway, for a coupe owner, i don't know if it is simple as dropping in the BMW's universal transmitter module on the headliner, and nothing else that needs to be done.
I installed mine in about 2 seconds. Cutting the hole in the panel and finding the cord took the most time.

I installed the Flash to Pass system and it works GREAT! Very easy to install and very cool to use your brights to open the garage door. Thanks for the information (great product)...

you do have to cut the panel, but it is pre-scored so it is pretty easy.
Finding the connector does tend to take the most time.

It was a pretty simple job installing the Homelink. Like it was stated before, the headliner piece is pre-scored. I had no problem finding the connector either. Can be purchased at http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp?HC1=...CY=2006&HCM=M3 For $165

We have Master Sets in stock, just separate transmitters at the moment (sold out). We'll have them in stock in a couple of days and ship the minute they arrive.

Default Same problem... Question about disassembly

Hey... Thanks for the info. I just received a replacment Homelink mirror from eBay. Homelink works, but my keyless does not. So, now that I know why, I'm wanting to do the same thing as you. While I've easily disassembled the old oval mirror, I'm not having such an easy time with the Homelink mirror. How did you take yours apart?

Issues: Keyless entry antenna is located in the reaview mirror. You can replace the mirror but the keyless entry won't work.

I purchased a compass homelink mirror from a salvage yard for $125 and them proceeeded to open my new mirror and my old mirror.

I compared the color codes of the wires of each mirror.

I removed the keyless antenna from my old mirror and installed it into the new mirror. Not recommend if you have highblood pressure, it's tricky.

Now the compass, homelink and keyless entry work.
