Default Anyone know what this extra connector cable by battery positive cable is for?

Referring to following connector cable circled in blue (which looks factory cable to me, at least),

Is that connector supposed to go somewhere?

Or is that for future use?

Or for diagnostic, service use?

:nixweiss:

Thanks much!

So you think this is something that the dealership disconnects when the car is delivered to them from dock?

I also don't know what that connector does, but if it is supposed to be disconnected at PDC and not supposed to be used thereafter, sure doesn't seem to affect my rear PDC operation though on both sides of the rear, since it has been working just fine.

I just noticed this extra connector during my battery problem diagnosis.

Thanks much!

Noticed mine disconnected awhile ago just forgot to ask. I noticed when some people post pics of their trunk, it is connected into a yellow plug attached to a black box on the fender wel..

That is the battery Disconnect plug. It is removed during the PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) at the dealership. There is a lug that bolts to the positive terminial. If you remove the bottom of your back seat you will notice another similar connector.

There is a switch placed in the interior of the car so when they load them on the boat they can disconnect the battery and not have to worry about jumping any cars off.
