Default Let's get real: How do we make a 99 M3 run low 13s?

A bunch of guys around here are talking mad smack about my M3. What's funny is that they all have WRX's.

One has alot of ****: intake, upgraded turbo, front mount, blow off valve, turbo timer boost controller, and some leave valve or something. I'm not very car oriented with turbo'd ****.

The other has everything except the front mount, and they all say they run 13.3's and ****. So, what do I have to do to have a good shot at beating these guys? I want to keep my warranty if possible, cause i have a CPO warranty until 100k miles, so that means i'll probably have to go dinan.

What do you guys think?

Race each other off a cliff and measure the terminal velocity a quarter mile down, then release the boot with built in parachute, saving you and your car...Mean while, those **** rockets have their boot full of NOS, and they would of been completely oblivious of the fact that they need a parachute in there.

well personally i think that who cares what those ****ers with wrxs say, first of all m3 isnt really made for drag, and neither are wrx, m3 is for windy roads, and auto x, and u got style, wrx are meant for rally, but most people buy then and drag race em, well that idiot that told u that he ran 13.3 with all that ****, he doesnt know how to drive, he should be in hight 12s, besides the point if you still wanna make ur car in low 13s, u gonna need, good clutch, good tires, and since u need your waranty then go all dinan i guess, lot of $$, u gonna need a CAI, throttle body, high flow air meter, catback exhaust, stage 4 software, and maybe even an intake manifold, but it all depends what u run now, i hear stock m3s suppose to run 13.9, well lot of people barely run mid 14s, so it depends on your reaction time, outside temp, elevation, tracktion etc, also use 103 octane race gas, 8hp to wheels gain... mean while tell the ****ers to race u on the freeway or in the mountains, u'll do better, and also tell them that out of 200 girls ( i did a survey) only 1 said that she liked the wrx, out of 200 girls only 2 said that they didnt like the m3, so u got 198 m3 agianst 1 wrx, that tells a lot, wrx = no style, the sti is on the other hand a lot better, but they dont have that, so at least u have the highest model in the class... my personal opinion

At least $6,000 in mods, and if you really want low 13's then F/I is the only way. Contact AA or DINAN.

Mommy Daddy Stop Fighting is my Birthday!.....eh.....ummm.... I ment guys, break it up. M3's, WRX's, there both great cars, they both hug the road, and they both accelerate like a bat out of he*l. Put ur diferences aside and unite. haha. good speach. Anyways, i have a WRX, and i love it for the above reasons. My friend, who showed me this battle, has a Beautiful 97 M3. I love his M3, and he loves my WRX. There both great cars that both have a great racing heritage. So why cant we all just get along. Also, in our time owning these cars, we have never had the urge to race one another because we respect each others cars. So, drop this argument, shake hands, and enjoy your street legal race cars. Just my 2 cents.

get a evo 321bhp engine and lower the diff gearing. i've run a 13.6 with no mods which is'nt far off 13.3

Fellas,

Used to own a WRX, now I have a 99 M3. Was just reading this discussion with interest.

Absolutely loved my WRX, just wanted a classier car (that I don't plan to mod as much) that still excites the hell out of me to get behind the wheel and drive, and I haven't been disappointed. At times I do miss the AWD, but then I remember I'm driving an M3 now and those times dissipate quicker than my rear tires.

In a perfect world, I would like an AWD and an M3 (preferably a Porsche C4, but an STI would do for now). But alas this world is not perfect. I can say I was happy with my WRX, and I'm very happy with the M3 now too.

The point of all this is that don't worry about your friends who ran the 13.3 in their WRX's. (BTW, I ran a 12.9 in mine with less stuff than that guy had so he needs to calm down until he can actually launch). You have a sweet car and if you ever want to compare (like apples to oranges) show him the inside of your car and laugh at his Wal-Mart like interior. If you want to beat him on a daily basis just get a WRX, mod it, and smoke him because he obviously can't drag his rally-car.

Don't mess with your car just because of this...just enjoy it.

mk
