Default Need advice on new Mountain Bike (Hard Tail)

I am currently searching for a Hard Tail mountain bike.

Uses:
Majority Dirt Jumping
Trails
Street rides
Must have at least 9 speeds and Disc Brakes Front and rear.

And it must be tough. I was looking at something like a used P2 or something similair. Anybody got suggestions in the $500-$600 range?

Are these bikes durable and could handle some downhill beatings?

I ride a Gary Fisher Tassajara. I mostly do single track riding, but I do take it on the occasional technical downhill. It can get pretty squirrly without the rear suspension going down some really rocky terrain, and clipless pedals make for a very interesting descent. But if you're doing jumps and downhill, I'm sure you'll stick with platforms. I don't know of too many good bikes that come with disc brakes for $500-600. I got mine aftermarket and spent $700 on my bike.

No.

Just look at some of the lower end Freeride/DH bikes from the big manufacturers, that will be your best bet.

$500-600 is not going to get you much bike anymore.
