I doubt it. The car has hp and tq, but it is very heavy. It's more of a driver's race I say.

SRT8 is slightly quicker, but handling does not compare at all. I had an R/T charger challenge me on the highway (special edition with the ugly green paint and graphics/spoiler, 350hp/390tq), the M3 put many car lengths on him immediately.

Test drove an SRT a while back. It's fast and heavy. You can really feel the weight on a turn so I would have to say that there is no way it would keep up on the twisties.

As for straight line, I agree with a previous post...driver's race.

Drivers race (of course its an automatic, so not much for the SRT8 owner to screw up).

Talk about cars from different worlds...

The SRT8 is a total throw back, big heavy with huge tourqe. Step on it and it pulls like crazy. I can see if the SRT8 driver goes around sandbagging M3's he'll win every time however wind up the motor on an M3 (from launch lets say) and you should be door handle to door handle.

The M3 will definitely out handle an SRT8 but the problem these days is that with the huge sticky tires they are putting on these beasts you have to be driving at insane speeds before you see the difference. You really need a race track to what either of these cars will really do.

And we think we get lousy mileage, drive an SRT8 hard and you'll need a loan just for the gas...

An SRT8 weighs 4,380lbs!!!!

Comparable vehicles are light trucks and vans, not German Sports GT cars.

Enough said...

This reminds me of Juha's video where they race the SVT Lightning truck:

The weight hurts it from a dig but once it gets going it will out-pull the E46, I'd put money on it. I don't particularly like them so don't take this the wrong way, I just don't see an E46 M3 hanging with it on the roll.
