replacing rear differential under warranty

I picked up my 2004 E46 M3 w/21k miles just a week ago. I'm very happy with the car! After couple days I heard some noise coming from the side or rear of the vehicle. It makes this grinding, dragging noise but its not loud at all. It would only happen when the car is not in gears (coasting). I thought it is the brakes kinda dragging.....and I took it back to BMW and they drove the vehicle and told me I need a new differential. Good thing I hear the noise b4 my warranty expired..... or else I guess I will have to pay more then 2-3g's for it huh?

Any one have this issue?

Do a search. There are plenty with the same issue.
