The old set up was put together by a local installer named Rick Ko. He did a very nice job keeping the system clean, simple, practical, and as lightweight as possible. I really liked it because I could take out the sub (which is in a JL OEM box made specifically for the Sub) in about 60 seconds (Yes, I actually timed myself) and have full access to the trunk. It IS for sale and includes everything (Eclipse AVN 5435 Touchscreen/Navigation, JL 12" W6V2, JL Prowedge Box, JL 500/1 Amp, False Floor, Amp Rack, Lights, etc.) but the 300/4 which I am keeping for the new set up. If interested please send me your best offer. I am in the process of recouping some costs for a few large upcoming non-car, more grown up expenses. If you are local you can come by and take a listen as well as getting you an excellent install price if needed. It sounds really fantastic and has a very clean/tight bass (I was not looking for the booming/rattle the trunk type of sound). I can imagine shipping being quite pricey. Thanks for the posting/asking.

Very sharp car! Nice writeup too, proof that having the right tools for the job make the end result worth it.

What's up Fernando. The car should be done in a week or two. Joey still needs to install the new ICE system, touch up the Brembos, send the HREs out to get the lips re-finished/polished, and fully detail the car. Cant wait to get it back as it has been at the shop for over a month waiting for the parts, etc. I am still curious of how the carbon fiber roof will look on the Carbon Black color. I only saw it under the shop lights, but I am hoping it will be subtly sharp. We should get a picture together with Ned's car. How is your new car? I wonder if your ///M is jealous.

your car is simply gorgeous, but your reasons for the roof are completely bewildering.

I guess some people just do aesthetics and not care much about performance. Weird!

but great car! cool write up thanks!

Thanks for the complement. Not sure what you mean about the roof. I very much like the idea of losing the weight for performance gains equally to the aesthetics. I am just admitting that I enjoy how a car looks as well as how it performs.

Beautiful mod! I have a few questions to ask you:

1 - how much is the CF OEM roof?
2 - assuming you have all the parts how long does it take them to do this process. I read that the car is in the shop for about a month because they are waiting for parts.
3 - i dont recall reading anything about making the CF roof w/ sunroof. did u put in a sunroof or skip that.
4 - how much is that section of the project would cost if you do not mind me asking?

TIA

well what you are saying seems contradictory. you like the idea of losing weight for performance gains, but then you add a heavy sound system, which probably added more weight to your car than before you installed the CF roof. and you also have the heaviest wheels out there- HRE.

sounds counterproductive. i guess its pick one or the other. can't have your cake AND eat it with those 2 choices - performance or non performance bling.

Yes. I definitely think it is a balancing act where the most important factor is where each individual fits on that sliding scale. For me, I guess I am somewhere in the middle. My car probably weighs as much as when I first picked her up when she was completely stock.
