The LSBM will continue to be the garage queen (esp. during winter over there), and the E36 will be my faithful daily driver, will need new rubber for her in the snow, of course... =)

Thx to all responded with advice and with the well wishes... it's sad to leave sunny CA. Not looking forward to scrapping ice off the windows and driving in the snow!!!
![]() I called both Intercity and Horseless, rates for three cars from CA to MA were: Horseless: $1,725 each (from $1,900) Intercity: $1,600 each (from $1,800) Not too bad for closed carrier. I think I'm going with Intercity!

Enclosed for sure it is a long trip cross country you do not know what can happen especially weather wise.
Intercity lines sounds good. I have heard lots of great things about them.

Follwo-up question --
I have 19" volks... pristine condition not a single scratch. Do I need to worry about the rims? What do they use to tie it down? I hope not the same thing as tow trucks cuz that would definitely f*ck it up........ Any ideas?

I've used American Auto Transport for both open auto transport and enclosed auto transport on multiple occasions. Very good service, not too expensive either. Pretty nice.

Yeah, The best way to judge the quality of any international car shipping, auto shipping or automobile shipping company is to ask the references who have at some time hired an international automobile shipping company to ship their car.

Wow, old thread revival!
I have to give Intercity a big thumbs up. All our 3 cars arrived with not a single scratch on them. I am doing another move next week (MA to NJ... much closer than CA to MA)... company policy now is open carriage containers only... Argh!
