Default H7 DRL replacement...LED H7 bulbs?

Ok I am in Canada and so DRL is the law. I know that the DRL are just my Flash to Pass running at like 50% power so regardless of what H7 bulbs I put in there, they are going to look yelowish.

There are a few options I can think of, first on my list I have tried already .

1) Get "blue" lights, the ones that are made to simulate HIDs....well if they ran a full power they would be acceptable but they look just as yellow as any other Halogens because of the power DRLs run at.

2) I saw some other Halogens that are 8500K or higher in color temp, maybe because they are run at half the power, the color will be closer to 4-5k but chances are they will just look weird but I guess I can order some cheap ones off ebay to test.

3) Use Halos as my DRLs and get my DRLs turned off, but no BMW dealer is going to do that and I don't know if any indi shop would do it either

4) I could go with the ebay H7 HID conversion kits... but I look at the headlight housing and how the H7 is locked into the housing and I can't really see how a kit is going to replicate the fit. Also I am not sure how the balists quite work in the HIDs and even though the DRL are at half power, once the balists are ignited I would assume the output on the HIDs would be 100%. Not a big deal since these would only be on during the day, it more the way the bulb locks into the housing that would make this a tough choice....unless I am wrong about the kit.

5) I saw some H7 bulbs but instead of them being filament bulbs, they were a tower of LEDs. My hope would be that since the LEDs emit a white light that they would look white even at half power. Has anyone tried LED replacement for filament bulbs? Something that looks like this:

Now the DRL are just for looks, so I don't really care how crappy the light output is. If I had my choice I would probably just use Halos and get my DRLs turned off or I may even just use halos and just unplug the bulbs....but then no flash to pass, not that I use them anyways.

Well it does seem that LED as running lights has already being used in production on the new R8 but now they are trying to use them as actual headlights as shown on the new Audi Nuvolari concept car.

I don't think the light output of the LED H7s will come close to that of the halogen H7s. If you look directly at the LED bulb, it will appear to be brighter, but it will not emit enough light to completely fill your DRL light housing.

And the H7 HIDs . . . I'm not sure if HID systems do well running on half voltage.

I run 3000k yellow halogens on my DRLs. It's a really cool look that no other M3 around here has.

I tried LED DRLs once. I didn't like them. They had the right color but only had one huge LED in the middle. So they did not reflect on the headlight reflectors.
the ones your showing in your opening post seem to solve that problem. I would try them in a heart beat. But I already rewired everthing to use my Angle eyes as DRL.
