Default Straight Pipes increase HP?
currently, I have a Supersprint Race Muffler, if I change it to Straight PIpes, will I gain Any horses at ALL? not even 1?

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere on the forum...that using the search function
gains you AT LEAST 10HP

Maybe a couple. But you will gain a truly staggering amount of noise. Seriously - the noise level produced by an unmuffled S54 is amazing.

Basically what Nick said. The ONLY real way to get any extra HP out of the engine
without modifying the engine itself is to go to aftermarket headers with or w/o CATs

You'll gain more HP... But it will be insanely loud... If you've ever heard a true M3 race car, you'll understand how Uber Banshee loud it really is...

S54's are beast sounding with straight pipe. like a banshee screaming when it comes at you then beastly when it passes you.


DOOO EEETTTT. im doing it on mine when i get it. only thing is youll lose low end torque (unless your turboed) up to about 5k because lack of needed back pressure but past that, she'll show you her true power.

how would a straight pipes in section 1 sound with a stock muffler? would it be any louder or just more rasp?
