Cop pulled me over and harrassed me in Burlingame

I was pulled over in Burlingame by an SFPD officer. The cop passed me up slammed on his brakes and pointed at me and yelled for me to pull over. I was just cruising along in the slow lane getting ready to exit Broadway avenue to pick up my truck at Toyota.

The cop pulled me over at Burlingame ave next to the Bart parking lot (across from in and out). he asked if I knew why he pulled me over. I knew it was not for speeding, but I was thinking it was for tinted windows. He said it was because my exhaust was too loud. I do not find it to be too loud, unless I have it at wot. Anyways, he asked for my license, insurance and registration. After providing him with everything, he asked me to pop the hood. He started checking out my modifications and asking if everything was smog legal. I told him that most of my mods were from Dinan and that they were all smog legal. I also told him that Dinan parts were also installed at some dealerships. He couldn't find anything illegal, so he told me I was missing my front plate. he also mentioned that he was part of a special automotive task force put together to bust non smog legal vehicles.

He let me go with a warning, but it sure was a hassel.

I know they are not supposed to pull you over for a loud exhaust unless they can prove it with a decibel meter. He also did not have any reason to search my car. I know I do not look like a criminal and I was just cruising along minding my own business.

My brother in law is a cop as well, and has a Dinan modded 5 series. He was suprised when I told him what happened. We had dinner together that same day.

Be careful in Burlingame now.

damn, i drive in bgame all the time..........wonder why sfpd was even there?

CHP usually borrows other cities squad cars and have juristiction else where... it's when that city needs help... so i'm told. But it couldn't have been Burlingame PD, they could care less about these things, the citie's loaded.

then again, about the whole CHP thing, i think you mean Millbrae Ave. there is no bart or in and out in burlingame.... if so, then SFO is right there and they use SFPD.

is ok man, they not suppose to show up there anyway, they cant give u a ticket , they have to call the local cops to do that...=P

hah, i went to burlingame high school

on the penninsula, i've had many friends get tickets from cops outside of the city they are in. supposedly there's an agreement there. this was also in the 90s though
