Default question on our ITB's

i'm still new to the m3/euro scene but as far as japanese cars and tuning goes alot of tuners dont have an intake manifold thing when it comes to their ITB's

never seen anything like that on an e46 m3 and the reason doesnt seem too obvious to me.

Room, and there are very good manifolds available. Also, you'd have to build some kind of manifold anyway, as the setup you've got pictured would get killed by heat soak.

just to add to

1. room
2. heat soak
3. maf delete = alpha N software
4. finding someone who can do alpha N software
5. there's better intakes available if your going to do alpha n (ie stock csl intake)
6. and and and and and and

welcome to all that is BMW. You'll soon find it's a totally different ballgame and price to modify vs's Honduh's

i figured the heat and space issue could be helped with a heat shield and different shaped filters altho i've never seen either of those on the tuned toyotas. i know the hondas and toyotas running ITB's have stand alone or some sort of piggyback ecu so i was wondering if there were other major technical cons to this setup. i dont know what alpha N software is but i'm sure if it was worth it, someone would have done it.

i know there are reasons why it's done differently on our bimmers, just wondering what they were.
