I honestly didnt even realize there were different exterior features on the lux, never paid much attention since I dont have one, didnt look at one when I was shopping, just didnt pay attention. I thought it was all interior

Agreed! Who's to say that the M can't have some luxury attached to it?! Just because the car has options, that some may disagree to it, it doesn't make it less of an M.

I agree; it is a BMW, after all. I don't like it because I'm a zero-option kind of guy, for most people it's no big deal or even a nice thing.

Thats sums it up! If the inspection goes well tomorrow, I'll probably make the deal on it. I like it. If I don't like the lux parts, I can swap them. Overall, it's a fairly nice car. I like some of the lux options, but others I don't... Now, to start looking for a set of power vaders!

I just bought this car and seeing this post made me wonder what I have. My car has power everything, OBD computer, non-vador leather sport seats, cruise, sunroof, sport bumper, leather on the door, no wood trim, no rear spoiler, it does not have the countour wheels. So I assume I have an optioned up sport?? It is a 5 sp sedan if that makes a difference.

I have the window sticker in the car but I dont feel like going to get it, if I recall it was $48K+.

I in no way felt inferior. Even though most people will tell you it is not a step up I certainly felt it was. And Actually, the Lux look can grow on you. Different = good.

damn. I missed this thread.

You'll enjoy what you buy without a doubt. The way it drives will make you forget about petty cosmetic bits. And, if they still bother you after a couple months, you can replace things.

That's why I believe that M cars should be focused on performance and not luxury. If you're looking for luxury maybe the E36 M3 isn't your best bet, but to each his own.
You do realize that the lux package has the same motor/suspension/etc as the, as you like to call it, sport model?

check the classifieds in BFC. There are probably 6 sets of black vaders right now for sale on there. Not sure what color you would need. Every once in a while a powered set will show up, most are manual however
