Default Rear seat delete...DOCTOR 3VIL style!(pics)

Alright guys, ever since I took the rear seats out I have wanted to make the rear seat area look clean. I got some quotes from local upholster people but all of them wanted $600-$800...BS. So I finally decided I would give it a try, with the help of my father in law (the most impatient person ever..anyway).
I am sure they would have done a more professional job but my car is not going to be a show car anyway. I just wanted to clean that exposed area and make it look neat. Keep in mind it is still not complete. I am planning on putting some kind of ///M patch on the back seat area. I was going to cover the back seat area with Alcantara (quality kind) but I did not want to wait for the order plus I needed approx. 2-3 yeards of it which would be about $200-$300.

I have tryed taking pictures as I went along, so here we go:

First I made an outline of the floor area with cardboard and then I placed it on a peace of pegboard. I bought some carpeting from local hardware store (Do It Center). It was relatively inexpensive, all the carpeting that I needed (had alot extra at the end as well) cost me about $30. It is not a perfect match to the OEM carpet but close enough. A upholstery guy wanted $75 for a yard of OEM carpeting. Keep in mind that the flash from the camera makes it stand out more but in reality it is very close to OEM color and style.

Here is the cut out board on the carpet:

Cut and stapled (alos used 3M spray blue #90)

For the rear seat I used foam from Home Depot, one sheet, cut out into four peaces and glued together

Quick try in (ghetto style patch work on the left side

fitting the carpet on the foam

finished

how it looks from the trunk

Comments welcome.
Thanks for looking.

looks pretty good to me.

Instead of using alcantara, you could have prolly used a synthetic suede... Significantly cheaper to buy then alcantara/suede...

Should have gone to a Joanne fabrics or something...

edit: How will those pins stay in? I bet as you drive they work themselves out no?

I did go there acutally, but their colors did not match and the pins don't come out. It's a tight fit.

What I used was subwoofer carpeting, it worked good. But not a perfect match.
