Default Universal Garage Door Opener (UGDO) HomeLink install instructions?

Does anyone have the instructions with pics? I remember seeing them once here long time ago, but my search didn't fare well.

Thanks.

See if this link works:

It's for a E39 5-series, but the instructions are identical to a 3-series.

http://web.archive.org/web/200512311...wut/bmwut.html

If this link doesn't work for you, copy and paste "http://www.bmwnation.com/ARTICLES/diy/bmwut/bmwut.html" to the site http://www.archive.org search box.

Once you get the archive.org results, click on one of the older dates, like from 2005.

Lightspeed,

Did you consider Flash2Pass? I've retrofit a few UGDO's in previous cars before switching to this solution. It's much quicker to install, totally invisible, and easily switched to other vehicles. I use it in both the M3 and the truck.

^^^^If you mean the UGDO, you'll need only to buy a UGDO transmitter from your dealer.

All necessary parts come with the garage door opener.

Buy online: I got mine from Circle BMW in New Jersey years ago.

http://www.circlebmw.com/cgi-bin/acc...d=&Series=---&

Use the drop menu in "Catagory:" to get to "Universal Transmitter". You do not have to use the the other two drop boxes, "series" or "part number". Click "Search" after you choose universal transmitter. Your transmitter is the fourth choice.

P.S. BMW no longer offers the UGDO for non-poseur M3s (AKA, those without moonroofs).

Yes, that definitely looks interesting.

I'll check it out (installation instructions).

Thanks!

There isn't much to it...just cut out the hole in your overhead console cover...snap in the remote, and plug her in....2 minute job.
