The number is going to vary depending on the number of fans used. I would take any dyno graph for these with a grain of salt. Not enough fans is going to result in low numbers for the top end. Too many or even the right amount and you are going to get inflated low end and midrange numbers. The only real measurable method would be acceleration and 1/4 mile time gains. Even then you are subject to varying weather and track conditions unless they are done on the same day.

What if it was a before/after on the same dyno, same fans, and same day?

Do to the nature of how the product develops hp by directing air into the intake it still will not be an accurate measure of actual road conditions. You could get a measure of a specific speed like it adds 2hp at 80 MPH in 3rd gear with fans supplying air at 80 MPH. Other than that it is not going to be an accurate measure of gains at other speeds unless you could vary the speed of the supplied air to match the increase in wheel speed on the dyno. That would take an obscenely expensive wind tunnel that could change wind flow as fast as the car could accelerate.

The only realistic empirical evidence is going to be running with identical road and weather conditions and collecting the acceleration data.

Here you go...

http://www.myz4mcoupe.com/images/Sca...yDynoPlots.JPG

Granted, these dyno plots are on a Z4 M Coupe, which has a different ECU (later generation hence updated engine software) than the E46 M3, and the scoop is tested with a mix of other components, but at least one can get an idea of what the scoop will do.

Also do a search for SP Engineering, as they have a version of the scoop and in that post, dyno results are in that post. Here is my $.02, for a $100 bux, it can't hurt.

You'll inch away from a stock car at 100+mph! Awesome!

Can't hurt, though. Can it?
