Default oil filter housing gasket leak

i have a small leak coming from the oil filter housing gasket. i've searched but haven't been able to find a DIY and I couldn't find it in my Bentley manual. The gasket is like $5 but my local indy shop wants like $250 to do it and I'd really like to save some money being that my power steering pump is on it's way out and I just spent way too much money supercharging the M.

Any help? Hopefully the supercharger kit won't make it even more of a PITA to do. Do I go from the top or the bottom to do this? I have full access to a lift/shop.

Thanks!!!!

man ... install issues, bad coils, crazy fuel leak, power steering pump going out and screeching like crazy, making weeeeeeaaaak power on the dyno, this oil leak .. hell, my subframe is probably all torn to hell, who knows knowing my luck.

I just want to get it running right, sell my 330, and make 460rwhp!

What do you need help with? Just rachet off the long threaded bolt on the housing and replace the o-ring with the new one and close up....Make sure you lube the new o-ring with some oil before sealing up with cap.......Good luck.....

I'm talking about where the oil filter housing physically mates to the block .. not just dropping a new o-ring on the housing itself. I'd show a pic of it but now I can't find a part number for the gasket I just ordered.

Not the same engine, but I am guessing very similiar procedures. Take a look.

here is the part ..

the gasket itself is #32, the entire housing assembly is #31, and it all bolts onto #27.

Anybody?
