In the SF Bay Area, expect free floor mats and zero discount. In fact brace yourself for some "Who are you to ask for a discount on a M3" attitude from sales people.

Free mats and no disount seem to be the way they work here. All of them have attitude about their cars. Looking at used is even worse. They want almost new prices for 03's with low miles.

I had several dealers offer $500 off MSRP. I think you can probably do better, if you want to work at it.

Hyolee's suggestion to ask for a free alarm may be the best strategy, however. I wish I'd thought about that when I negotiated the price. (I just assumed such a friggin' expensive car would have an alarm as standard.)

Wow, $500 off is pretty good. You should post the details of the deal and who offered you this.

I wish I would have known this car did not come with an alarm. Ask for alarm and cd changer.

M3 Coupe, SMG, Premium, cold weather, HK, Xenon

Following dealers offered $500 off MSRP:

Stevens Creek
Sonnen
Peter Pan

We went with Hank at Peter Pan. He was very patient and let us compare the 330ci (Steptronic and SMG) with the M3 with SMG. We liked the M3 ;-)

Like I said earlier, if I were to do it all over again, I would have gone for some of the (more expensive) dealer-installed options in place of the discount.

Default Just picked up 04 M3 cab at good price

Just picked up 04 M3 cagb at 2300 off at local Northern Ca dealer. Also got free floor mats and other acc. at 20% off. I really got more off because the msrp sticker was from jan. before the 600 price increase from BMW.
There are a lot of dealers in N. Ca that are sitting on a lot of inventory. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/newre...eply&p=255104#
