No need to remove anything. Just open the door and look at where the mechanism (door lock actuator) holds the door shut.

Red arrow is pointing at the rubber grommet that's hiding the alan screw.

Thanks for the info Jest.
Mine just started doing this and was planning to search (I knew I had seen something like this long ago.) Thanks for the reminder and picture.

I believe the driver side is clockwise and the passenger side is counterclock wise to tighten down (or vice versa).

I have screwed mine snug but it still requires a long pull before the door unlocks. I also lubricated around the latch. Any other ideas? A local indy shop recommended perhaps they can remove the door panel and inspect the latch?

Should I try loosening the alen screw?

Thanks,
Loay

WD40 isn't a lubricant at all. It stands for water displacement and is used to rust proof metal.

I went and purchased a can of silicone spray lubricant and applied it and it did not make much of a difference.

I took it to an indy shop and without removing the door panel they were able to adjust the latch and also clean it so as to apply only a little bit of lubricant. I was told too much of this can make this worse.

At any rate, it feels much better now. Thank God !

Regards,
Loay

too funny I had this problem the other day and I was thinking I need to post about it on the forum!!! I also noticed that when I unlock using the transmitter I can't pop the door knob down with the door open.. is it supposed to be this way? I will need to try the allens key method when I get home tonight!! thanks people!

took 3 minutes (2 for finding right allen wrench and 1 to tighten n clean up)

+1...
