I currently don't plan to use the terrestrial radio at all really so would be just fine with losing some signal quality. How about just a small blag stub to screw onto the antenna base?

Seems even the shortest one might pose a minor issue with the car cover? Its a fitted M3 specific cover from California Car Cover.
Sure, the smaller one would be fine in this case.

I bought my antenna from Tom last year, I got the shortest metal one. I wouldn't suggest the rubber one cause they will break on you cause i already broke one.

I've had mine since '05 and never had a problem. I do use my iPOD more than the radio, but no reception issues.

Thanks for the replies.

Going to give the shorter one a try and see how it holds up. I'll be gentle putting the cover on, but looks like the longer one will be just a little too tall so I'm gonna try the shorter one and hope for the best. At $25 I guess it would be worth it to break one or two just to not have to unscrew the antenna every time I put on and take off the cover - which for me will be about 2-3x a week. Will let you know how it works and take some pics with the cover on.

I realllly want to get the stubby antenna(the real short one) since it looks the best...or atleast better than the slightly larger one. I do however use the radio a decent amount even tho i have sirius and ipod...Can anyone tell me how the signal loss is with the smallest of the stubby's from EAS???
