Default folding mirror installed

does anyone have the part# the euro folding mirrors? i went to alison bmw and they gave me the same number for euro and us mirrors? they aren't the same are they?

Where does the switch go? Also, do the mirrors come painted, or did you have to pay extra to get them painted?

You know that left/right switch for adjusting the side mirrors? The switch for this mod go roughly where they are.

Thanks. In case anyone else is interested, I just found the ultimate folding mirror install link: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...hlight=folding

Its pretty involved - removing door panels, the mirrors arrive unpainted etc... I mean, folding mirrors are cool, but this looks too much like hard work. Too bad they dont offer them in the US as an option. My brother got them on his new S4. Typical BMWNA...

Do they offer these in Europe (and Japan) because the roads tend to be narrower and you'd be better off folding the mirrors when you park on the street so you can give more room to the moving traffic?

was i thinking about just swapping the guts from the folding mirrors to my existing stock mirrors. then perhaps i can sell the new mirror to some non-m3 owner..
