Kind of stupid question: Is there anything wrong with the stock 'eyes'? This is the first time I ever activated the DRLs; they look great IMO. Are they prone to fail, or you just want something different? I'm glad I like the stock setup, with brighter inner rings, but am also glad Tom is here to satisfy the rest . The stock H8 bulb is halogen, correct? And if one fails I know where to get plenty of replacements . Have a good one folks.

The stock AEs are illuminated by a 35W bulb and have a yellow color, which looks tired compared to the AiBs 6000K temp. AiBs also correct the "uneveness" caused the the optic design used on the outer rings.

BMW is already making new grounds on covering this issue on other models, here's an example on the new 5-Series Gran Turismo concept:

Only time will tell if this makes its way over to the M3.

So what are they using as the output emitter? CREE LED technology?

The LEDs used are a combination of design, LED and electrical specs for output/longevity of life.

The very same engineers are involved in updating outdated airport runway lighting with LED technology, luckily we get to have those same people on the BMW team.

Yes on other applications - but it would result in an instant ticket. Typically, we recommend White (6000K equivalent) on e92 models.

Ok, Got mine in the mail. The connector looks a little different from the vid, updated design I'm sure. The directions with the kit state to put the driver in the housing, but the video states to leave it outside behind the housing. Is it now safe to put it in the housing? Thanks, John

John,

The DriverPacks are safe to install within the headlamp assembly.

Tom,

Do you install this as well? How much will you charge for the installation since I cannot trust anyone to touch my car.
