This makes me think of the DD Accord I have back in CO. After three winters of drifting that thing in th snow ive finally brought that transmission to slipping a bit.

Get it close to gear changing, ease off gas so u don't build revs and let it slip into gear. I baby that thing whenever I fly in and have to drive it.

but if that's what you're getting...I agree with Tony, it is slowly and surely going. U can prolong it but i would only do as to give a time buffer to find a replacement.

Excuse me?

I've only owned manual cars mostly my entire life. However, when I was a younger, my second car that I got stuck with was an auto. I was only used to a manual, so i often downshifted the auto, or put it in 1 and then 2 when taking off. This put extra strain on the transmission, and I ended up blowing it after a few months of use.

All I was saying is that if he wants a car that he can shift, he should stick with a manual transmission, and if he wants to stick with an auto, he should just leave it in D. It is a known fact that shifting your auto tranny can and will put extra wear and tear on it, since this is not what it is meant for.

I was in no way being a douchebag, but rather trying to help by speaking from experience. Relax tough guy

Hey Louie what did you mention about the ZF tranny? Is it an upgrade from what we have? I already cooked one tranny and have a weird feeling about this one going out soon too.

Joo don't wanna join the 3.91 club, i think i'm the only member

My car had the same exact problem about a month ago. You are definitely looking at a rebuild. I wanted to swap for a manual but I do not possess the ability to do this on my own and there isn't any shops around where I live that wanted to take on the project. So I opted to have my auto rebuilt. They installed a master rebuild kit, a rebuilt torque converter and rebuilt the valve body. Shifts like a champ now. extremely firm/fast. Now I need to find a good deal on a 3.91 lsd!

How much did that run you? I was going to have mine custom rebuilt from village motorworks a while ago with a higher stall torque converter and a bunch of other things along with a shift kit, guy said it'll hold 800+ hp if needed to. Sounded all great til I found out they charge over $100 an hour and it's a multiple day job.
