Not the most elegant way to get a good deal but money is money I guess.

So those you that have a business or that are in sales, what do you think when a customer tells you that you don't have a right to make a profit and call you a stealer?
When you kick a dog that is down, be careful because someday you may become the dog. |

what's with all the negative feedback; who gives a sh*t how he got the $1675 from the dealer, he got it.
this is a capitalistic society and the dealer is out for their own and we're out for ours. and do you seriously think that dealerships actually care what type of negotiation tactics you used during the purchase of the car? as if the sales person is going to go tell the service people to screw with your car since you dealed rough with them during the purchasing. there's plenty of dealerships around anyways and they won't treat you any better if you bought the car there (minus the fact that most dealers only give you a loaner if you bought it there, i get it anyways though) |

Happy for you. Just like you said, when the time is good, they would charge a fortune ABOVE MSRP on these cars. Buying a car is a business deal, not a social event where you make friends.

"He had the audacity to tell me that what I was doing wasn't fair or moral" Good for you these dealers are always full of crap and we all should get a car at MSRP!!!!! I wish there were no middle men and we can order on line and get the car delivered Fed EX from the factory!!!!

Glad OP got the deal he wanted. It just bothers me personally if I shook hands on a business deal then the other person retracts after the negotiations are done. It's like going back on my word.
Just as an example I ordered a ride on toy for my daughter one Christmas from a small local toy store for $xx then found it for less online but since I had already agreed to a price I just went ahead and bought it from that store since I knew they had small profit margins. I might have asked for a pricematch had it been a big retail store but even then I would have done that before buying it. Granted this is not thousands of dollars difference but it's the principle of it. I did drive 2 hours to another dealer when I bought my Honda Odyssey because my local salesman wouldn't budge on his price. That was worth the nearly $2K difference. OK off my soapbox.
