I have the build about 60% finished and have some cool mods on the car - OEM CSL boot, TCKR coil overs, Hotchkiss sways, etc but my wife and I also had a son who is 27 months now, we have an 8 week old daughter and I started a high end audio business out of our house sicne I got the car.

The system will be really cool as I designed it to sound as good as a car possibly can, without adding TOO much weight to the vehicle. Also I shaved a little weight with some mods. So my goal is to end up at around stock weight or 100 lbs over......

Here is a link to my old car and feature article in Car Sound & Performance magazine.

Sorry to fread jak.....
oh wow, if I were you, I would just sell it as you don't drive it enough. Car is for driving unless you are rich and have all kind of car to play around each day.

You are just so amazing in that E46 on R compounds. I'm so horny for it, oh man, what was I thinking moving from my E46.

Oh, that is right, I can afford to, you can't. Enjoy your "old" car, it WAS great. The rest of us understand it is 2009.

if your financial situation is compliant, i'd say go for the E92. try something new. again, not many has the opportunity to savor the different flavors of the ///M. the E46 is a beast...the E92 is beast on steroid!

E92 M3 is a better car period. I can't believe even after so long, the E46 guys can't seem to stay in their own section and look for every opportunity to preach how their older cars are superior. If you can't afford to move on to the new model comfortably, that's fine. But don't go bashing the E92. The OP only wanted the opinion of people who upgraded from the E46 to E92, yet guys who have never even driven the E92 come troll this section.

Newsflash: Neither the E92 or your precious E46 M3's are race cars. They are meant to be amazing all round daily drivers, with the ability to do a few HPDE's a year, and in that respect E92>E46.

put your money where it will count .... upgrades to ur current M3.

besides, all ur gonna get here is super-Fanbois, praising their fat girlfriends.

So kind of like an E92 with coils, upgraded breaks, and R-comps would spank you?

Stock for stock, the E92 destroys the E46 performance wise.

Wow u guys are being ridiculous(this subject has been beat to sh!t), ok yeah there is a bunch of e46 m guys that are always going to say the e46 is better than e9X, but who cares? When the e46 came out there was a TON of guys saying it was soft and the e36 was the car to have... same with e30 and so on...

In the end we are all driving some awesome M3's and we all have that in common.

and by the way this is a M3 forum, not e90post so please do not tell an m3 owner he needs to say out of these threads or go to the other side of the forum "where we belong"...

If you only want to hear about e90+ go to the "other" forum not here..

and for op in my opinion just gotta drive one to understand is it much better of a daily driver, but of course the more advanced and tech'ed out these new M cars are getting the heavier they are and feel less connected with the road. I have three friends with e92s and ive driven them a number of times, and they STILL love to ask me if they can drive my e46.
