Default FS: E46 M3 SMG - GSP P7 Brake Pedal

Hi,

I have a few GSP (GS Performance) E46 M3 SMG P7 brake pedal kits for sale. They are left over from a project.

They are brand new, come pre-assembled and are pieces of art.

Instructions are included and the kit includes everything you'll need to replace the factory pedal with the P7 pedal in about an hour with basic tools.

I used one in the Nitto/Crevier E46 M3 race car for many years and it performed perfectly. There is no flex or side play and the braking feel is greatly improved.

It is a must-have upgrade for any E46 M3 SMG - it is what BMW should have put on the car in the first place. It allows for much easier left-foot braking.

The P7 pedal is no longer available from GSP. They are very rare.

$600 plus a flat-rate of $20 for shipping in the lower 48 states from Irvine, CA. Please contact me for a shipping quote if you are not in the lower 48.

PayPal (+3%) or a check is fine. Local pickup is OK as well. I can be contacted at ralph "dot" warren "at" cox "dot" net to buy one or if you have any questions.

Thank you,
-Ralph Warren

That's a nice piece.

These mount up fine to all stock parts and brake sensor? Do you lose or modify anything permanently?

Couple notes on the pedal.

This is the latest generation pedal.

There is no flex or play in the pedal what so ever.

The factory brake switch bracket is reused. Nothing is modified or changed permanently.

The pedals are brand new.

The pedal arms are powder-coated satin black.

Thanks,
-Ralph Warren

if so, then why does Gustave (designer of GSP) include the bracket in his kits? attached is Gustave's email to me from 2007.

Fernando,

At some point you had expressed interested in purchasing a P7 brake pedal for the BMW e46 chassis.

It has been a long time coming, but the Gen-III version of the P7 is ready. If you are still interested, then there is a pedal kit waiting for you.

Click here to see a picture of the pedal, and the price:

http://gsperformance.com/products/p7/p7.htm

As you can see, the Gen-III version includes a manufactured pedal cluster. This is made from CNC’d 6061 aluminum alloy, with four parts which are permanently bolted together. The new cluster was required so that the brake pedal arm could be simplified. The arm is now a simple 4130 steel alloy tube, which is very stiff and very light (to increase braking responsiveness).

The entire unit comes pre-assembled, ready to bolt into the car. The installer will need to trim the sound deadening foam on the firewall a little bit to let the cluster fit. Also the under-dash plastic cover must be trimmed in order to allow the new brake arm to slot through. Those are the only modifications required to fit the P7-III pedal.

The Gen-III cluster relocates the pedal pivot point. This has the effect of reducing pedal travel and increasing pedal stiffness. The pedal arm pivots on bronze bushings which ride on a precision machined hardened 4130 steel shaft. Each pedal is hand-assembled (by me) and checked to make sure there is close to zero friction in the pivot point. This has a big impact on making the brakes easier to modulate. Small variations in pressure from you foot now translate directly to small changes in brake line pressure, instead of being dissipated via friction in the pivot point, or flex in plastic bushings.

The price includes the matching throttle pedal cover plate, and bracket for the brake light switch. Also, shipping, via FedEx Ground, is free. California residents please add 8.25% sales tax.

Payments can be made to: gustave@gsperformance.com

Please respond promptly either in the positive or the negative. There are a lot of folks in line, and the pedals are as yet in limited supply (they simply take a lot of effort to build).

This pedal will transform your car, and the way you drive it!

Regards,

Gustave

Sent PM and also interested in response to above daytonaviolet post.

Too bad the GS Performance site is no longer up.

What was the original price on this pedal?

I'll take one if he finds the bracket that came with it or I can get it to work with the stock bracket. Worse comes to worse, I could probably have one of my buddies fab me one on a CNC but it would be nice to reference the original design.

You're a life saver daytona...

These pedals are simply awesome - If you have a SMG M3, you owe it to yourself to get one or at least take a drive with one at least once.

Ralph, good to see you're around.
