Default winter driving - E46 M3 vs. E93 (or E92)

Hi guys:

I currently have a 2004 M3 and I am thinking of moving to an E93 vert. I need to drive it in the winter as a daily driver (upper midwest winters are bad). Anyone know if the E93 will be as good as the e46 M3 in the snow (I put on 17 inch rims with Blizzacks in the winter on the E46 M3 and it works great)? Clearance is the main issue so I guess the real question is whether or not anyone know what the ground clearance difference is between these 2 models?

E93 M3 will be fine in the snow. Better traction control, ground clearance is the same. The major annoyance is that you have to buy TPMS sensors.

If your snow tires are mounted on E46 M3 OEM 18s, they will fit with an 18mm spacer up front. (To be clear, not less than 18. 15 will NOT clear.)

I just bought my ///M about a month ago and am worried with the same issue in NJ... I saw alot of people on the forums with snow tires... I was curious if they really help or is the car too powerful anyway?

Snow tires/rim set up no matter which route you go.
