I am bumping this thread as my clunk is getting worse over time. Its getting to a point where I wince every time I hear it because I am expecting something from my car to be laying in the road.

For those that have replaced said bearing, how has this worked for you?

Man I had everything changed on mine except the drive shaft. New diff, all mounts and bearing. Even the motor mounts! Still thumped and cluncked terrible. If I lifted some when shifting(smg) it would help.

Is there anyway to check the CSB without removing everything?

I dont think so. The heat shield is covering about 90% of the driveshaft and its components. You can visually inspect the Guibo/CV joint of the driveshaft but you would need to remove the heat shield to be able to see the U joint/CSB

Mine has a low frequency subwoofer like thump if I'm in 1st gear and push in the clutch pedal quickly. Then it thumps again as I let it out and it loads the driveline again. Does this sound like CSB or something else?

Anyone in the Orlando area want to help me diagnose it? I haven't had much faith in repair shops lately.

Just had the car looked at on a lift and the front diff bushing is bad. It's soft as jello. Can't wait to get it fixed.
