Default Broken sun visor light switch????

Ok to add to my long list of questions about my new baby, I have one about my drivers side sun visor. ITs not a big deal but its one of thoes anoying things that i need to fix.

Anytime I flip my sun visor down the light comes on, even if the little mirror door is closed. The only time it goes off is when I flip it way forward (but I know its supposed to go then) The passinger side only comes on when the mirror is opened so I know somthing is wrong.

If that light switch is bad in the visor it dosent look very replaceable, or is it? Can it be fixed? OR would I have to replace the visor? Any idea how much it would be??

ITs annoying because I want the visor down but not all the way foward and having the light glaring me in the face defeats the whole purpose!!!

Thanks

sounds like a problem in the actual slider piece on the mirror, to get around it all you have to do is to put the visor down, the light will come on then, remove the visor off of the clamping hook (rotate clockwise) and you'll see metal tabs in there, thats what completes the circuit.

otherwise sounds like you'll have to replace the visor, or maby you can clean the metal tabs in side of the slider piece on the mirror, thad be my guess

hope this helps, holler if you got anymore ?'s

Yeah, that happens to me too. It has something to do with the mirror cover, but I haven't had the time to figure it out. So for the time being, I just pull it out of the latch so it doesn't complete the circuit. I will try and figure it out this weekend, and then I will let you know what I had to do to fix it.
