Exclamation OEM glass is distorted...normal?

I've noticed that my OEM glass is slightly distorted and I notice it while driving.

There are small refractions in it at certain angles that are inconsistent. My first thought was that it was aftermarket replaced by the PO but it is stamped with "pilkington" and has the BMW logo above it.

Has anybody else noticed any distortion?

Where exactly are the inconsistent refractions? If you let us know we can check to see if we have the same issues.

Thats interesting because I recently replaced the glass on my wifes jetta (also Pilkington) and it seems to have some distortion also in the middle looking from the bottom up, right on the edge of the glass.

Every car, including the e46, that I've had with Pilkington glass (various mirrors, windshields, and windows over the years) have been highly distorted. The windshield in the e46 bothered me for the first month or so, but then I got used to it.
