I already dropped the whole exhaust, heat shield and I'm ready to pull the driveshaft out. How is this center support properly replaced? Also while everything is out, is there anything else I should consider replacing? Like transmission mounts or something?

You must remove the entire driveshaft first. That's pretty easy. Then you'll need to split the two halves by removing the 18mm nut just inside the u joint. Then the center bearing can be pulled off.. you may need a puller for this. Be sure to mark the two halves before you separate them to ensure proper alignement when reassembling.
Regrease the rear CV... pack it full. Get a new gasket as well. Good time to replace the guibo. Tranny mounts are probably good to replace too.... easy and cheap. All that said, a rebuilt drive shaft is roughly $400 so consider that.

Are there any aftermarket tranny mounts out there?

Not really except exhaust
![]() Oh, you could change your tranny fluid since everything's out of the way.

Was told 60k mile service was just done before I bought the car, so they said tranny fluid was changed. Exhaust I would really love to change or more so headers, but either way I'd have to pass inspection with the stock exhaust first before upgrading.. They are getting strict here in MA.

Just ripped the driveshaft out and replaced the center support and bearing. The guibo is cracked :\ looks like I'll have to order one.

Good luck with the project!
Curious, why you are doing this?
