Default My Sweet Garage Queen is now a VF-Stage I Masterpiece !!!

I purchased my E46M3 new with only 7 miles on it. It is my 2003.5 Carbon Black, Cinammon Leather, Aluminum Interior, 6spd Manual...Dinan Koni adjustable suspension, 4.10 BMW Motorsport gears, stock exhaust little piece of heaven.

Well with only 16,700 miles on it I took the plunge after 4 months of exhaustive research regarding Superchargers. VAC motorsport did the installation. My research revealed three outstanding products VF, AA and ESS. For me the decision points included proven horsepower, customer service, reliable horsepower, no codes or other emission/inspection issues, refinement and intercooling efficiency.

VF won me over with its strong reviews from subjective sources, the refinement of the package and the air to water intercooling which according to every engineer and motorsport mechanic is the most efficient method to maintaining boost/horsepower and safeguard the engine (the crown jewel of the E46M3).

VAC dynoed yesterday after I methodically broke-in the system for about 600 miles. 13 pulls yielded consistent 403-407 rwhp and 279 - 281 torque at the wheels. I couldn't be more pleased. I also had VAC install the PLX 200 which is great, pictures will follow, I am somewhat technologically challenged.

The car starts, idles and drives JUST LIKE STOCK. But get on it and it simply keeps pulling and pulling in stock fashion but exponentially more potent. I am so pleased the character and drivebility is uneffected, while from 3,000rpm on, its stunning, giggle producing and ferocious. VAC, who installs AA, HPF and VF really liked the Stage I packaging, bracketing, plumbing, GIAC software and air to water intercooler, they were duly impressed.

I chose to supercharge instead of purchasing the E92 b/c I love my current E46M3 and don't drive it enough to warrant such a cash outlay and still be slower. I know there have been a lot of comparative posts and that is not my intent. I applaud all the quality supercharger manufacturers and the investment is (for me) meaningful as I have a 5year old girl in her 2nd of private school (Phila Public schools in poor condition). I spoke with AA and they were very insightful, professional and intelligent. My intent is not only to ramble (which I have done successfully) but also to share my enthusiasm, relief and convey how impressed I am with Nik, Sean, and the rest of the crew from VF. VAC did a phenomenal on the install, testing, gauge set-up (PLX is dah bomb).

One additional point about Nik Saran of VF. After my install and during the break-in I inquired with Nik about an upgrade to Stage II. He told me to allow for the break-in and open it up and learn what the Stage I can do; have it dynoed and really get my money's worth b/4 looking to upgrade. Well he was so right and more importantly honest, garnering true respect. Great product, diligent client service and a well of engineering knowledge.

I hope to be at the Mid-Altantic BBQ in KOP, Pa this weekend. Drive safe enjoy what you drive and the journey.

The to the numerous members for their feedback VAC & VF for an effective collaboration making a great car truely startling.

+1 to the above comment!

Congrats and welcome to the family man! Carbon Blk E46s FTW!!!! Be sure to post your name under the list of VF owners in the F/I section! I too am enjoying Stg 1 right now and for now it's definately satisfied my need for power! However it's true what they say "boost is addicting" and I have a feeling we'll be going Stg 2 real soon!

you and i are in the same exact shoes. my e46 m3 is a garage queen and i drive her about.. once every month if that. and that 1 day a month depends if it is going to rain as well. if the clouds start to get a bit dark, she stays in.

anyhow, congrats on your car! you will enjoy it!

Congrats! Agree with everything you said, except the E92 being slower.

An E46 VF stage I is faster than a stock E92, no? I mean it has more hp and less weight, so it sure as hell should be. But I haven't actually seen any numbers, which is why I'm asking.
