Default SMG noise issue...&subrame recall question/guibo

Hey guys I got a new question for you guys. I have an 04 SMG coupe that seems to be having issues. I am still under CPO so I will most likly drop it off in the next few days. When I start the car and shift it into nuetral and well as into first or second I get a pretty loud sound and somestimes a vibration through the smg knob. It is not a grind, it is almost like to un lubricated pieces of metal rubbing. Hard to explain really. The pump seems to be running correctly as I unlock and start the car does anyone have any ideas?

Also I figure I should get the subframe checked while I am at it, as I think OCT is the last month for this to be fixed under the class action/recall, does anyone have more info on this?

Also I think the guibo may be failing as a get a stutter as I slow down from first or second to a stop...

Oe more thing, my temp is staying under the middle mark, they have stated the engine is running slightly cool, but inside specs, should I force a thermostat replacement while I am at it? Does anyone have more info on getting this fixed under warranty? I was under the impression that if it did not stay dead middle under normal operation it was not working correctly, I think it may be stuck open. I live in socal and it ran slightly cool in 100 degree weather.

Any ideas out there?

:::: SKIP TO BOTTOM FOR FIX::::

I took it in and showed an SA the issue, it is intermittent, and luckily it repeated. They made an appointment for next week when the factory rep will be in so we will see next friday. They are also going to look at the guibo for me, as I get some jerkiness as I slowdown in first or second. Also they are going to do a subframe check for me.

Ok I got the answer, and will have some more info tomorrow. Apparently that noise is made by air in the SMG pump system caused by a faulty hose. They patched it up and it is working fine, while I wait for a replacement.

The guibo is covered under CPO strangely...

I will post all work done once I get the car back as well as part numbers.
