I have a magnaflow and the fitment is the worst part. There is issues with the straightness of the left set of pipes on most sets existing (you will see this if you see pics online). I believe the fixture in their process was off.

Biggest thing is to take your time and make sure the pipes are straight and square from a view looking down the back of the car. Also, make sure the pipes are semi level.

Post back and share if your left set of pipes are not level. Mine are off some and it really bothers me every time I see it.

Yep same here, my driver's side (left side) tips hang lower than the right side. Pisses me off everytime I look at it too and my csl rep diffuser makes this more pronounced! We tried jacking the left side up w/ a trans jack to correct this but didn't have any luck. If you look underneath the car it almost looks like the muffler itself isn't level (there is a downward slope to the left side). I plan on putting the car back up on a lift sometime soon and trying to correct this problem, but I am unsure how exactly I am going to go about this.

MPM3 wrote this in an earlier post: "I knew many forum members with Magnaflows complained of the drivers side exit tips hanging lower and unevenly. So to counter this I elongated the holes for the rear hangers up 3/8 inch on both drivers side hangers and down 3/8 on the passenger side hanger. I used a file and a Dremel tool for this. This gave me some muffler height adjustment to play with. I also used my transmission jack to raise and level the muffler while it was still loose."

I am having trouble visualizing what exactly he is dremeling.

Yes, if you undo some clamps and play around keeping the left side higher with your jack. Then tighten front left to right. You will have much better results. Some playing around and you will be much happier.

The left pipe still annoys me because of the angle the y pipe was welded on. Every picture I have seen contains this issue.

I called them about their lifetime warranty. They denied any assistance, so I continued to elevate the call to eventually talk to the VP of America. He said since it was already installed, all they would do is reimburse me to have someone cut the pipe off and weld it on straight. I told the VP, I would not trust a company that would not stand behind their products and I would share my experience with internet enthusiasts. After this I gave up, sometimes you just cant get someone to do the right thing.

I will not be going back to magnaflow in the future.

Thanks, I will give that a go next time I have it on the lift.

lol nice^^ i installed mine today Thanks for this thread it gave me an ideah how to start off but found out last owner i bought my exhaust from had the resonator cut off at one point and then welded it back on ???? yeah lead to a 5 hour job trying to figure out how to not make it rub againts my rear driver side sway bar and the two black center brackets. washers would not help me here pipes are almost an inch off i would need about 5-6 washers plus longer bolts. lol so i decided to wait till monday and take it to a local friends muffler shop to adjust this problem currently not using the two center brackets thinking it should be ok? dont plan to run it hard over the weekend other than that the car sounds great feels like it got a lil bit more hp/trq towards reedline

I don't think it lead to any power gains, as I don't have aftermarket headers yet, but I think the weight reduction makes it seem quicker.
