Default BMW Performance Short Shift Kit

I just wanted to say that I just installed the BMW Performance SSK or basically what is the shift lever from a 330d. Absolutely amazing! The shifts are so much shorter and precise. Everyone that says "its the shifter the m3 should have come with" could not have been more correct. Instead of ordering the entire kit from Tischer I just ordered the lever and reused my stock shifter and boot which, for me, is totally fine since I wanted it to stay lit up. The install was pretty easy. The only hard part was getting your hands up near the clip and especially getting it back on. Its a ridiculous pain in the a ss. Other than that I am in love with the way the car shifts. For $50 bucks its a no-brainer. Thanks to the guys at Tischer for your help.

Joe

Did you have to get under the car to install the lever? I'm assuming so...

Yeah, I had to go from under the car. For sure impossible to do it from the top. You take the plastic shield on the bottom off, its about 8 screws or so. wedge your hand up in there where you can barely see it and you barely have enough room to do anything. Its tight as hell but not impossible

Sounds interesting do you have a link for the shifter?
Or even part number?

25110430358* Each $185.00

OEM BMW E46 M3 Short Shift Kit. Kit includes, 6sp M Shift Knob (25117896884), Alcantara Shift Boot (25117919219), Shift Lever Bearing (25111220600), Short Shift Lever (25117527259), and Circlip (25111220379). *Price now includes Free Ground Shipping!!! (US only) **The knob in this kit is NOT the zhp knob, or BMW Performance Knob...it is a regular, non-illuminated 6spd M knob.

I bought ony the short shift ever (25117527259) and bought a new shift lever bearing (25111220600) becuase mine was bad but you obviously only need the shift lever. If you go to getbmwparts.com and enter these part numbers you'll get the prices separately. The $185 is for everything above which incudes the shiftknob and boot. I just reused my stock one because this one doesnt light up. Hope that helps

Wow, this looks good. I was going to go with the Rogue SSK. I'll have to weigh the options. Thanks for posting.

Yeah, apparenty the more expensive options are better but for $50 compared to ike $300-$400. I realy can't see how much better it can be. I absoutey think the feel and the throws from this kit are perfect.

Mine is so sloppy right now that trying to speed shift I can go from 2nd and miss 3rd and hit 5th. I'm really careful now, but it's something I'm for sure going to address.

Thanks.
