Exclamation

Have the car towed to a proper mechanic... and don't you dare pick it up until you get a fresh set of tires mounted on the car.

track tires dont have much tread to begin with, and if he was driving home on the track tires, and was dewy (sp?) out, would be very easy to lose it. There probably wasnt enough heat in the tires, being worn almost to nothing (but still good on track, just not on the street)

another one bites the dust

Is it done for then?

It could be a vacuum leak which given the code and the description would make sense.

The beautiful thing about my M3 compared to my 944s is that I fit seven tires inside the trunk and the car along with a jack, small toolbox, drill, cooler, etc. and I drove to and from the track in absolute comfort with room for a full sized passenger.

With just a roll bar in the 944 I had to remove the rear wiper to get four tires in the car and then it was practically impossible to get a passenger in the car.
