i've been really interested in these mirrors for quite some time now, the only problem being that they were no longer being produced so you'd have to wait until one popped up for sale used (few and far between).
well, they started making them again!! ![]() http://www.stealthmirror.com/index.html you can request them with a 2-way mirror (replacing your autodim mirror glass) or get your current mirror etched to retain autodimming. the etched design is definitely the coolest i've seen!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

I get the impression that with these you still have to have your V1; Installed somewhere where it can get both front and rear view; The V1 is not built into it... Am i wrong about this?

correct, this is just a remote display. you still need your V1. you'd just hide the V1 somewhere in your car and have the alerts displayed in the mirror.

You are right in your assumption. While the mirror integration looks super cool, I don’t see the where the stealth comes from. The monitor is slightly off from where the main unit is usually mounted and is still visible to all other drivers including LEOs.

This would be more useful if they took apart the valentine one and installed the sensors in it; the front in the front and the rear sensor looking through the mirrored glass (if that d work). I doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to do although you'd lose auto dimming.

1st, being in the mirror most people would assume it's a compass as opposed to a radar detector. 2nd, you can park your car on the street/parking lot safely knowing that somebody isn't going to look in, see the radar detector and smash a window to get it. that is a HUGE concern for me, and it's getting to be quite a pain in the ass to take it down/put it up almost daily.

![]() the benefit to hiding the main V1 radar detector somewhere and having the remote display in the mirror is that the V1 can still be moved from car to car, and it is still covered under warranty. if you took it apart, goodbye warranty. oh, and the cost. it would cost a hell of a lot more to take a V1 apart and "rebuild" it into a mirror.

Yeah, but it would probably be cheaper and better to get the escort 9500ci if your going to do that.. I know I need a radar detector, thinking of picking up a v1 to hold me over while I stealth a 9500 (may take a while to install completely stealth and custom |

I'm curious - where else would you put it in the car and still have the full benefit of the front/rear sensors, as well as the line of sight (by having it mounted up high), WITHOUT taking it apart?
